Engjell Sokoli

Engjell Sokoli is an associate in the Banking & Finance practice of Rymarz Zdort Maruta.

Experience and education:

A specialist in project finance, acquisition finance, real estate finance and regulatory issues, including share issuances and IPOs, he routinely drafts documentation for and advises clients on a variety of transactions ranging from plain vanilla transactions under Polish law, to complex cross-border financings under LMA standards. He takes an active role in negotiating the structure of security packages and in drafting transaction security documentation relating to various facility agreements under the LMA standard (LBOs, project finance and REF). Additionally, he has experience in the preparation of banking and finance chapters for due diligence reports.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków in 2019, and he is currently completing PhD studies at the same university. He also completed the LL.M. programme in banking and finance at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom in 2020, where he wrote his thesis on resolution regimes of banks: striking a balance between prudential regulation and shareholder rights under the Banking Act 2009 and FSMA 2000.
