Marcin Maruta is an attorney-at-law and a senior partner in the TMT practice of Rymarz Zdort Maruta.

He is a leading new technologies and intellectual property law expert in Poland. He heads numerous specialised teams in the firm, including teams focused on IT contracts, cloud computing and paperless technology. Marcin has advised on some of the most complex and ground-breaking technology projects in the last 20 years. He has profound expertise in sophisticated, cutting-edge software licensing agreements, supply and distribution agreements, implementation and maintenance contracts, cloud and outsourcing arrangements, data protection, new technology, and software licence disputes.
Marcin is a co-founder of The Stanisław Lem Institute for the Poland of the Future. The institute aims to promote the digital education of society, e.g. by taking actions designed to counter cyberviolence among children and prevent the digital exclusion of elderly people.

Marcin Maruta has been recognised as a leader in Poland in the field of new technologies law for many years. In the Polish legal ranking prepared by Rzeczpospolita, he was awarded the title of leader in 2016–2018 and in 2020–2023. In the international ranking of Chambers Europe, he was ranked in Band 1 in 2019–2023, and in The Legal 500 international ranking he was twice named one of the best lawyers in Europe (Leading Individual) in the field of TMT in 2020–2021.
