We are pleased to inform you that yesterday we had the pleasure to host the inaugural meeting of the Poland Chapter of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association (WWCDA), an international organisation of women working in the field of corporate criminal law, investigations and compliance.
In addition to a keynote address by the WWCDA Chair (Karen Popp), the participants had the opportunity to share their experiences and network in a relaxed atmosphere.
The Women’s White Collar Defense Association (WWCDA) was founded in 1999. Its founders recognised a glaring lack of women in the white collar defense field and in existing professional white collar organisations. The association’s professional activities are crucial in promoting diversity in the practice, providing educational programmes and networking to develop business in this practice area. Membership in its 51 chapters consists of 4,500+ women in the white collar defense field. Many of its members have previously served in government positions and in corporate roles. Notable members include former corporate General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officers, as well as former prosecutors and high ranking government officials.
The founders of the Poland Chapter of WWCDA are: Maria Szczepańska (counsel and head of the White-Collar Crime practice at Rymarz Zdort Maruta), Katarzyna Dąbrowska (partner at Pietrzak Sidor & Wspólnicy law firm) and Katarzyna Randzio-Sajkowska (partner at SK&S law firm).
The Poland Chapter will promote the visibility and advancement of women in a traditionally male-dominated field. This will be facilitated through various networking events to be held throughout the year.
Congratulations to the founders and thank you to all of those present! See you at the next meeting!
