ESG

We are specialists in the field of ESG – Environmental, Social, Governance. We provide customised solutions in this area that ensure regulatory compliance and help our clients achieve their financial and non-financial goals. We believe that ESG is a business approach that pays off in the long term and offers a real opportunity to strengthen competitive advantage and corporate image as well as to gain access to more favourable financing conditions.

As part of our advisory services, we, among other things:

  • analyse businesses’ compliance with ESG regulations, including helping to define reporting models, with particular emphasis on capital groups;
  • comprehensively prepare companies for their first sustainability report in accordance with the CSRD, the Accounting Act, the ESRS and the Taxonomy, by conducting, among other things, a double materiality analysis and a gap analysis, developing an ESG strategy, measuring the carbon footprint. and structuring data collection methods;
  • conduct ESG legislative monitoring, including legislation touching on specific reporting issues (e.g. the wage gap, EUDR, waste, packaging);
  • conduct training and extensive education campaigns on both sustainability reporting and specific issues covered by ESRS standards in all three areas: E, S and G;
  • fill identified gaps, creating content to be reported in future years – including cleaning up processes, implementing or updating documents, and conducting training in areas where the ESRS requires information about training (e.g. anti-corruption, whistleblower protection, anti-discrimination);
  • implement ESG compliance procedures;
  • develop strategies to counter greenwashing by conducting audits of environmental claims, reviewing the legal compliance of claims, and creating internal standards and guidelines for the wording of product and service claims;
  • assist in value chain management and the interpretation and implementation of sustainability due diligence regulations;
  • develop ESG codes of good practice for both companies and their suppliers;
  • secure the aspects of ESG through contractual clauses;
  • structure the ESG reporting process in the organisation by preparing internal ESG reporting procedures that set out the roles and responsibilities in the process, the process flow, its timeline, verification and process improvement principles; and
  • participate in the development of ESG market benchmarks by creating or co-creating regulatory reports, standards or guidelines, including those targeted at specific industries.

We take an interdisciplinary approach to ESG issues. Our project teams include not only specialists in sustainability reporting regulations, but also lawyers who are experts in specific sectors. Where necessary, we also join forces with non-legal advisors, allowing us to provide a complete service from start to finish. We keep abreast of the latest ESG trends and challenges by attending and organising events related to sustainability topics. We are also a member of organisations actively working on ESG.

With such a wide range of renowned lawyers from different areas, we are able to comprehensively guide clients through a sustainable transformation in the spirit of ESG.
