Dr Łukasz Karasek is an attorney-at-law, a counsel in the corporate department of Rymarz Zdort Maruta and a member of the Financial Regulatory team.
A specialist in regulatory law, he has worked on M&A and private equity transactions, including tender offers and M&A deals involving public companies. Additionally, during his work at the PFSA, he took part in the transposition of CRD IV, the CRR, the MAR, Transparency II, MiFID II and the BRRD into Polish law. Moreover, Łukasz has been involved in advising on regulatory matters concerning insurance law, including the IDD directive.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw in 2012 and qualified as an attorney-at-law in 2017. In the same year, Łukasz obtained a PhD in law from the University of Warsaw, Administrative Law Institute. His thesis focused on the PFSA’s prudential supervision of the acquisition of qualified holdings in investment firms. In 2010, Łukasz graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics with a magister degree in economics.
