Engjell Sokoli is an associate in the corporate department of Rymarz Zdort Maruta and a member of the Banking and Finance practice.
Experience and education:
A specialist in project finance, acquisition finance, real estate finance and regulatory issues, including share issuances and IPOs. He routinely drafts and advises clients on a variety of transactional work ranging from plain vanilla transactions under Polish law to complex cross-border financings under LMA standards. He takes an active role in negotiating the structure of security packages and in drafting transaction security documentation relating to various facility agreements under the LMA standard (LBO, project finance, REF). Additionally, he has experience in the preparation of due diligence reports as regards banking and finance matters. Prior to joining the law firm, he worked in the banking and finance departments of international law firms based in Warsaw.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University in 2019, and he is currently completing PhD studies at the same university. He also completed the LL.M. programme in banking and finance at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom in 2020 where he wrote his thesis on resolution regimes of banks: striking the balance between prudential regulation and shareholder rights under the Banking Act 2009 and FSMA 2000.
