Krzysztof Sajchta is an advocate admitted to practice in Poland and a partner in the dispute resolution department of Rymarz Zdort Maruta.
Experience and education:
Krzysztof specialises in handling litigation, including civil and commercial disputes and criminal law matters, and international arbitration.
His experience in international arbitration proceedings includes advising an oil & gas company in two arbitration proceedings under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules that were related to a revision of the price for gas supplied under a long-term contract, advising a Polish EPC company in arbitration proceedings before the Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in relation to a dispute concerning the performance of a construction contract, as well as advising a Polish telecommunications company in a case before the Vienna International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) in connection with a dispute concerning the financial settlement of the acquisition of a telecommunications company. Krzysztof has also advised clients in state-investor arbitral disputes under bilateral investment treaties.
Krzysztof has advised a multitude of clients in relation to civil law and commercial disputes. His experience in this regard includes representing: contractors in a dispute with the State Treasury along with other subcontractors in connection with the construction of the National Stadium in Warsaw; an investor in connection with financial and timeline-related claims made by a contractor under a contract for the construction of the LNG terminal in Świnoujście; multiple clients in corporate disputes aimed at challenging resolutions of meetings of shareholders or general meetings and disputes regarding the liability of the members of the governing bodies of companies; and multiple clients in civil disputes regarding the infringement of personal rights, including a precedent-setting case regarding the infringement of the personal rights of an entity by the Supreme Audit Office (NIK).
His experience in administrative proceedings and regulatory disputes includes representing clients in proceedings before: the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (PFSA) and subsequent proceedings before administrative courts; the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) and subsequent appeal proceedings before courts concerning pecuniary penalties imposed by the UOKiK; building control officers; and the General Inspector of Financial Information.
Krzysztof’s experience includes representing clients in high-profile white-collar criminal cases on both sides of the aisle, having represented injured parties and those charged with or accused of committing criminal offences, including in relation to stock market offences, insider trading and market abuse.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań in 2009 and qualified as an advocate in 2013.
