Senior Associate

Maciej Kuranc is an attorney-at-law admitted to practice in Poland, a senior associate in the technology department of Rymarz Zdort Maruta and a member of the FinTech & ICT Regulations practice.

Experience and education:

He specialises in legal advice at the interface between new technologies and the financial sector, with a particular focus on regulations concerning outsourcing, cloud computing, cybersecurity, payment services and cryptoassets. On a daily basis, he supports both the largest financial institutions – banks, insurance companies and investment funds – and emerging fintechs, advising them on the safe implementation of innovative solutions and the effective management of regulatory risk.

He has experience in complex compliance projects and the implementation of cloud services, including compliance with ISO 27001, UKSC, Polish Financial Supervision Authority recommendations and European regulations. He advises on projects concerning the assessment of licensing requirements and on the implementation of solutions compliant with DORA, MiCA and outsourcing regulations, and also conducts regulatory risk analyses.

Maciej was also involved in the development of implementation guidelines for the financial sector regarding the use of public cloud computing – in particular, as part of the Polish Cloud 2.0 initiative led by the Polish Bank Association – and in the development of an implementation model for the Chamber of Fund and Asset Managers.

Maciej is a graduate of Maria-Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin. He also completed postgraduate studies in Business AI organised by Kozminski University in Warsaw.
