Paulina Cieślak is an advocate and a counsel in the corporate department and a member of the Restructuring and Insolvency practice of Rymarz Zdort Maruta.

Experience and education:

A specialist in civil procedure and proceedings, she focuses on proceedings related to bankruptcy and restructuring law.  She manages a team that specialises in the development and implementation of complex and multi-threaded procedural strategies while representing creditors and bankruptcy trustees.

She has successfully represented creditors in numerous precedent-setting dispute cases. Her scope of knowledge and experience includes filing actio pauliana lawsuits in connection with claims valued in the millions, applications seeking to prohibit management board members from conducting business activities, and numerous other lawsuits and procedural matters in the course of proceedings involving entities undergoing restructuring or bankruptcy.

Additionally, she has repeatedly and successfully represented clients in negotiations and mediations, as well as contributed to the amicable settlement of a number of disputes.

Paulina has appeared before all instances of common courts, the Supreme Court, administrative courts, including the Supreme Administrative Court, and the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Prior to joining the law firm, she worked for Polish and international law firms in Warsaw. She has also served as a lawyer at a well-known and respected investment fund company and as legal counsel at the Office of the General Counsel to the Republic of Poland.

She graduated from the “Master of German and Polish Law” programme jointly organised by European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) and the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań in 2009. She was admitted to a course in American law organised by the Center for American Law Studies at the University of Warsaw in co-operation with the Emory University School of Law and the Georgia State University College of Law. She qualified as an attorney-at-law in 2013.
