Paweł Tobiczyk is an advocate licensed to practise in Poland, a partner in the privacy & data protection department of Rymarz Zdort Maruta and co-head of the e-commerce & digital marketing practice.
Experience and education:
Paweł is an expert in the fields of data protection and privacy, the legal aspects of e-commerce, and digital marketing. He also deals with issues related to the safeguarding of legally protected information, artificial intelligence and new technology law. He works with entities in the media, e-commerce, financial, technology, telecommunications, energy and industrial sectors, and is active in the areas of e-commerce, digital marketing, data protection and privacy, and FinTech. Paweł has been responsible for ensuring the regulatory compliance of a range of websites, sales platforms, marketplaces and mobile applications. He has opined on complex business models that use, among other techniques, machine learning, targeted online advertising campaigns and business analytics. He has managed numerous projects involving the implementation of systems for risk management in organisations and comprehensive data security audits.
Paweł has gained professional experience working in renowned Polish and international law firms. He has been a lecturer of postgraduate programmes offered by Kozminski University, the Upper Silesian Higher School of Commerce, WSB Merito University Warsaw and the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is the author of scholarly articles that have been published in the national press and industry portals, and has been a speaker at numerous industry conferences.
Paweł is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University. He also holds a degree in Philosophy and European Studies (with a specialisation in European Law) from the Jagiellonian University and a PhD from the Polish Academy of Sciences. In addition, he completed the postgraduate course Business.AI: Technology, Law, and the Application of Artificial Intelligence at Kozminski University. He holds a CIPP/E certificate.
