Rymarz Zdort Maruta is advising Polski Fundusz Rozwoju S.A. on its PLN 100 million investment in Metalkas S.A., a family-owned manufacturer of safes, shelving, ladders and other metal products based in Bydgoszcz. As a result of the transaction, PFR will acquire a minority stake in the company.
The proceeds of the investment will be used to accelerate Metalkas’s expansion in the United States and Western Europe. The closing of the transaction is subject to securing merger clearance from the President of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK).
“For nearly seven decades, Metalkas has grown steadily while remaining a family business. PFR’s investment will give fresh momentum to the company’s expansion in the United States. We are pleased to support PFR on a transaction in which growth capital is helping a Polish company move to the next stage of its development,” says Jakub Zagrajek, partner at Rymarz Zdort Maruta.
PFR is being advised on the transactional side by Jakub Zagrajek (partner) and Patrycja Gliwka (associate), and in respect of the merger clearance proceedings before the President of UOKiK by Iwona Her (partner), Justyna Niezgoda (associate) and Jakub Giedronowicz (associate).
