Rymarz Zdort Maruta strengthens its Environmental Law and ESG practice

We are pleased to announce that Klaudia Cholewa and Ewa Dużyńska have joined our Environmental Law and ESG practice as of 1 August 2023. The competencies of the team will also be strengthened by Marta Szczepkowska, who has been with the law firm for a number of years already. Together with Agnieszka Skorupinska, who became the head of the newly established Environmental Law and ESG practice at Rymarz Zdort Maruta on 1 July 2023, the team will support clients in responding to environmental law challenges and building upon and developing sustainable business practices.

Klaudia Cholewa is an attorney and a senior associate in the Environmental Law and ESG practice team. She specialises in Polish and EU environmental law and ESG regulations. She has advised clients from, among others, the waste management, construction, energy and chemical industries on, inter alia, obtaining decisions on environmental conditions, waste regulations, emissions regulations, water regulations, RES and land surface pollution, and has represented clients in administrative and administrative court proceedings. She has also advised on the environmental aspects of investment processes and transactions, as well as on the compliance of activities with ESG regulations and planned ESG regulations. For a few years she has lectured environmental protection law at the University of Silesia. Prior to joining Rymarz Zdort Maruta, she developed her professional experience working for a number of years with an international law firm.

Marta Szczepkowska is an attorney and an associate in the Environmental Law and ESG practice team. She specialises in Polish and EU environmental law. She has advised clients from, among others, the energy (including renewable energy), construction, real estate, waste management and telecommunication sectors on, among others, land surface pollution, waste regulations, emissions regulations and environmental decision proceedings. She has primarily advised on regulatory aspects, investment projects and M&A transactions, which includes having participated in numerous environmental due diligence examinations. Her previous professional experience was gained at an international law firm.

Ewa Dużyńska is a trainee lawyer and an associate in the Environmental Law and ESG practice team. She specialises in environmental law and ESG regulations. Among others, she has advised clients on environmental protection in investment processes, decarbonisation projects and compliance with ESG regulations and planned ESG regulations, as well as on renewable energy, waste management, soil remediation, air emissions and compliance with water regulations. She has also advised clients in the chemical, clothing, transport, construction and energy industries. She completed postgraduate studies in environmental law and sustainable development at Lazarski University in 2023. She joined Rymarz Zdort Maruta after having gained professional experience at an international law firm operating in Warsaw.
